Home Remedies

Anyone have a good remedy for heartburn??
Grandma has been doing really good during chemo. She goes every other Thursday at Huntsman and completed her second round last Thursday. She isn't too nauseous but is suffering from heartburn. If you have any ideas for her to get rid of it, give her a call! The more crazy the better. (Don't tell her I said that!)

In other recent news:
Grandma has been enjoying visits from family and friends, especially when they bring food! Her friend Debbie is taking her a yummy meal tonight.

Her friend Dr. Wilson and his wife, Lynn, brought the dogs that Grandma usually babysits over for a visit yesterday.

She also received a beautiful bouquet of flowers from her Bishop.

Aunt LaRue and Dee's grand daughter, Heather, had a baby boy this morning! Kyler weighed in at 4 lbs 8 oz. They were up all night waiting for the arrival. Mother and baby are doing well.

Grandma is celebrating for her grandson, Luke, who is turning 8 today. She is looking forward to Anna turning 5 on the 31st as well. This past weekend she took them to dinner at Hires and let Luke pick anything off the menu he wanted! He wore his new cub scout cap and ate so much he had to be rolled out of Hires.

As you can see she is keeping busy and having fun doing so. She mentioned she is doing all she can to keep her spirits up. Lets get creative and help her! Penny is starting a "give and take back" basket. She will take the basket to Grandma with some goodies when she visits, take it back home, and refill it for the next time!

Encourage

Grandma is having a few side affects from the chemo this week. Nothing too awful though. She has asked that everyone remember her in their prayers for strength during this hard time.
If you would like to visit with her, take her for a drive, go to lunch, or just talk on the phone, don't hesitate to call. She is at Aunt LaRue's and would love to hear from and see you!
Let's stay positive and always encourage her so she can keep her spirits up!!

Results and Chemo

Grandma went in for her first round of Chemo on Thursday. I talked to Penny on Friday who said Grandma was feeling well. They gave her an anti-nausea medication in the chemo IV and then gave her oral medication to take after if needed. She hadn't needed any as of Friday afternoon.
They did not see any spots on her liver or the lining of the liver from the MRI! !
Although that is great news, they still will not operate. It is a big surgery and would take months to recuperate. They are going to watch Grandma closely and see how her body reacts to the chemo.
I will try and contact Grandma tomorrow to see how she is feeling and get more updated info for you all.

Thanks for everyone that made it! Grandma is just going to love having this. What a big family I have married into. We are all so lucky to live so close to each other!
